Knox Knox – who’s there?

Several members of the NFHS attended the recent State Conference held at Knox Grammar School & organised by the Ku-ring-gai Historical Society Inc. We all had a great time & thoroughly enjoyed all the talks we attended as well as the trade fair & spending time with like-minded family historians. Naturally, we were watching everything more closely than usual knowing that our turn was coming to host the next conference. We certainly learnt some excellent hints from Jenny & the team which we will put to good use in the lead up to September 2020.

All of our members took turns spending some time on our trade table & we all enjoyed talking to those who stopped by to look at our publications or to chat. We sold out of our most recent publication, They Sent Me North: Female Convicts in the Hunter, & sold most of its prequel, Early Newcastle: the Fettered & the Free. We made sure most people entered their names in the big blue box so they had a chance to win a free Full Registration to next year’s conference. The lucky winner was drawn on Sunday at the hand-over.

We had a winner of our own at dinner on Saturday night. (Photo: Mel)
