Big news this week is that you can now book to attend the virtual conference and purchase raffle tickets! If you have not checked out the raffle page yet – you should! There are some great prizes already and more are sure to come!

You know the old saying – you have to be in it to win it!!

This week, we thought we would introduce our John Vincent Crowe Memorial Address speaker, Dr Mark Dunn.
His first book The Convict Valley, tells the story of five convicts who escape Sydney in 1790 by boat and end up near Newcastle whose lives then become entwined with local Aboriginal people. It covers the Hunter Valley’s history between 1790-1850. The book was shortlisted for the Australian Prime Minister’s Literary Award (Australian History) in 2021. Mark has worked for over twenty years in heritage, conservation and archaeology and is a public historian. He also has a PhD in History!

He is an engaging speaker, and we are sure that you will enjoy his presentation!
