Tracing Aboriginal Ancestors

Anny Druett describes herself as a proud 4,005th generation Aboriginal-Australian woman descended from the Ngemba mob, as well as English and French mobs. For over 40 years she has tried to track her maternal line overcoming many challenges in an effort to obtain information about her Aboriginal family.

At fifteen Anny was introduced to the basics of tracing your family tree from a family friend who was a member of the local historical society – this began Anny’s obsession with finding out all she could about the grandmother she never knew. Come and hear Anny’s fascinating story.
